"ZERO" was my solo exhibition at Sputo, Dienerstrasse 33, 8003 Zürich, curated by Daniel Drabek and Ferdinand Kalfoss. The space sits off Langestrasse — Zürich's bar and red-light district, whose chaotic spirit offered the right backdrop for a work about labour, rest, and stillness. I had just started my first office job; it felt like the perfect moment for this artwork.
The work references Holbein's "Der Leichnam Christi im Grabe" — a painting tied to Basel's shift from Catholicism to Protestantism, and one I knew well from my years as a guard at Kunstmuseum Basel. During the renovation of Basel Münster, I was able to source timber from the building itself to construct the frame.
